There is only one airport in Maldives operating many airlines frequently. They do not have any national carrier serving Maldives. The Maldives International airport is the Male’ International Airport sited on the Hulhule Island.
This airport is facilitated with 24 hours boat services to numerous resort islands. However, this airport is not facilitated with taxi as well as car rental services. The Maldives International airport is being upgraded with new arrival and departure areas.

The present domestic terminal is upgraded to operate for international airports. This airport receive scheduled as well as charter airlines. The airports in Maldives are featured with a bank, duty free shops, restaurant, free shower room, post office, bureau de change and first aid station. These airports charge a departure tax of US$10 from each passenger.
The airlines that operate flights to and from Maldives are Emirates, Austrian, Air India, Qatar Airways, Malaysian Airlines, Sri Lankan Airlines, Singapore Airlines and Transaero. The chartered airlines include Britannia airways, Condor, Corsair, Furofly, Blue Panorama Airlines, and more. One very important factor is that there are no offices of the charter airline and should be contacted from the home country.
Australians also reach Maldives conveniently through Singapore Airlines or Malaysia Airlines. Charter flights do not operate in this line and hence this is an expensive line.The places where charter flights also operate offer cheap flights to Maldives. Similarly, France operates charter flights on Star Airlines and on Corsair International in high seasons. In fact, Emirates, Sri Lankan and Qatar offer cheap flights to Maldives and best connections during the rest of the year.
Apart from them Italy, Germany and other European countries, Japan, UK& Ireland, Canada and USA also operate flights to Maldives.
